Tony Clark

Business Development Manager

Tony Clark joined Branch Civil in February of 2022 as Business Development Manager for southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and former newspaper publisher, Tony has over 20 years of experience in executive leadership, government relations and business development. As a media executive, his communications and business experience helped developed a deep understanding for how to build strong relationships and deliver results. Tony was recently part of the team that won Branch Civil the site development contract for a $185,000,000 AutoZone distribution facility in New Kent, Virginia, which is expected to break ground in July of 2022.

Mike Colbert

Vice President
Estimating

Mike Colbert has over two decades of proven construction experience in both Estimating and Operations for heavy civil construction work, including public, private, traditional, and alternative procurement projects. Mike’s prior experience as Superintendent, Project Manager, and Operations Manager for some of the largest heavy-weight/civil contractors in the Mid-Atlantic has brought a high level of expertise to the Branch Civil team.

Mike currently serves as the Vice President, Estimating for all regions of the company. His vast experience has equipped him to assume responsibility for and lead/manage our large Design-Build pursuits from conception to submission. Mike’s work in the Virginia and North Carolina regions has enabled him to establish and cultivate relationships with VDOT, NCDOT, as well as private developers, which have proven to be invaluable for Branch Civil.

Bill Yeager, P.E.

Director of Equipment

Bill joined Branch Civil in 2018. He serves as the Director of Equipment and Trucking for both Virginia and North Carolina.

Bill graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and has been working in the construction equipment arena his whole life. Bill also serves at a Lt Col in the National Guard as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Officer. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and has achieved the Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) recognition.

Dennis Miller

Vice President
Pre-Construction Services

Vice President Dennis Miller serves in our newly-created role of Preconstruction Services. His primary responsibilities include the negotiation and generation of Purchase Orders and Subcontracts, vendor relations, and contract review of Owner and Prime Contractor contract documents. Dennis has worked for our company since July of 2000. He previously served The Branch Group as Chief Estimator, Project Manager, Operations Manager, Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Estimating.

Brian Evans

Vice President
Operations

As Vice President of Operations, Brian Evans’ career in the heavy/highway construction industry spans over two decades. During his career, Brian has directly managed both state and federal highway projects in the state of Virginia, garnering extensive experience in both roadway and bridge construction. His current role involves maintaining responsibility over 200 plus employees and the daily field operations of the construction, trucking, and concrete crushing divisions. His practical experience includes construction of the $70M Coleman Bridge Replacement Project in Yorktown, Virginia, the $100M Mercury Blvd. / I64 Interchange Improvements Project in Hampton, Virginia, and the $30M Birdneck Road Improvements Project in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Drew M. Johnson, P.E.

Director of Operations

Drew joined Branch Civil in March 2020. He currently serves as the Director of Operations for the Company’s West region which includes southwest Virginia and western North Carolina.

Drew graduated from North Carolina State with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served as a Resident Engineer with North Carolina Department of Transportation until 1988 and has been in the Highway industry ever since, working throughout the Carolinas and Virginia on many design-build projects.

Drew is licensed as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina.

Latané Ware

Business Development Manager

Latané Ware recently joined Branch Civil as Business Development Manager, with a focus on the Northern Virginia and Richmond regions and the western counties of Virginia. He garners 25 years of experience in the heavy highway construction/site work, commercial construction, and semiconductor/chemical industries, much of which he spent on D.O.T. projects primarily in the Northern Virginia region. Latané graduated from Guilford College with a B.A. in Business Management Administration, and has Masters of Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology. His extensive experience in both construction operations and business development has instilled in him an appreciation for the importance of establishing lasting relationships and an understanding of what measures need to be taken to ensure that projects are completed on-time and on-budget.
